Arsenal legend claims new Chelsea signing has “gone there for the money”

Despite so many other clubs currently being in a better position than Chelsea in the Premier league, so much focus has been put on what the blues are doing in the transfer market, a lot of judgements and false narratives have been made around Chelsea owner Todd Boehly over the last few months from online personalities, pundits, Football legends and more and it seems that despite many Chelsea signings including Benoit Badiashile and Noni Madueke saying a big reason why they came to Chelsea was to be a part of the project under Graham Potter, digs are still being made towards Chelsea and the owners.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright is the latest to have his say on Mykhailo Mudryk, he said to the Arsecast podcast via astamfordbridgetoofar that “he’s [Mudryk] gone there for the money” and that “I’m not going to blame him because he’s someone who has had a lot more going on around him personally and in his life.”

Whilst every player will take money into the equation when making a transfer move, especially someone moving from Ukraine to England, it does feel a bit of an unnecessary jab towards Chelsea considering he never mentioned any sporting reasons as to why he joined the Blues.

Of course Chelsea are having a bad season but outsiders seem to be focused on the money being spent more than the signings themselves, so far under Graham Potter, Benoit Badiashile, Joao Felix and Mudryk himself have all looked very impressive, albeit a small portion size to judge from.

  1. Everybody need money, even Ian Wright talk about football in TV and other media for money, if the payment is no enough, ofcourse he won’t speak on the TV. We live in the world where money is the answer to many problems that are facing us. On the other hand, Chelsea is a big club and apart from money, Mudryk and co. will also benefit from raising their quality and wining trophies due to a well-planned project that focus on making Chelsea to becoming a dominant team in many big leagues in Europe

    1. In the podcast where he said it, Ian actually never jabs at the man or Chelsea for paying him that much. He comments that they paid more and that it was a shame Arsenal couldn’t get a player who he believed would’ve fit in so well. But hey, why not read a quick clickbait article instead of listening to the primary source?

  2. Gooners cant except they are no 3 in london, get the chip off your shoulder and stop moaning.
