Well this is just silly.
Before the game, all the talk was about Mason Mount, who misses the game as our latest injured first team player. “It never rains but it pours” sighed poor Graham Potter just before tonight’s game.
Now, 2 minutes in, Chelsea have lost another starter. Raheem Sterling pulled up holding his hamstring, tried to play on for literally 20 seconds, and then motioned to come off.
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has come on, but let’s face it, he’s not convinced anyone since arriving in the summer.
Chelsea are a team that looked totally useless in attack even with Sterling and Mount in the team. As much as they are not in form, there’s no way this team is stronger without them.
Things could be about to get very ugly, with two game against this Man City lawnmower to come this week. Let’s hope this is just a gentle tweak.
