Chelsea refuse to do business with rival for their midfielder

Chelsea are refusing to do business with Newcastle for Conor Gallagher today, according to The Athletic.

Chelsea view Newcastle as a rival for the top four spot this season in the league and therefore will not be sanctioning any move to them, loan or permanent.

Newcastle currently hold a ten point lead over Chelsea, who sit 10th, although the Blues are set to have a number of injured players such as Reece James, Raheem Sterling and Wesley Fofana return very soon which could give them a boost in their pursuit for a Champions League spot.

Negotiations are ongoing for midfielder Enzo Fernandez and it was suggested that Conor would be allowed to leave should a deal be struck for Enzo with Benfica however if the information from The Athletic is to be believed then you can rule out Newcastle as one of those clubs he could be departing to. Crystal Palace are also thought to hold an interest.
