Chelsea have been focusing on incomings pretty much since Todd Boehly took over from Roman Abramovich last summer. 16 arrivals have come through the door whilst the club have only managed to see 5 permanent departures out of the club.
With the continued aggressive spending in the market, surely the number of departures should only increase as time goes on for squad balancing and financial reasons. Chelsea do seem a bit reluctant to let players go in January however, with Conor Gallagher being the latest player the Blues are taking a hard stance on.
Information from Journalist Ben Jacobs via CaughtOffside reveals that Chelsea do not want to loan Gallagher but may change their stance for big bids “around 35-40m pounds”
Clubs such as Everton and Crystal Palace are interested, but for me personally it is hard to see them spending this type of money this month, and I feel like Chelsea are going to have to be moveable with their price ranges in Summer 2023 to ensure the squad gets trimmed and finances come back into the club to balance or fund more signings.
