Reece James has told Sky Sports that he personally hates the January transfer window.
James, who has recently returned from injury, admits that the noise surrounding potential signings does not help the players.
Chelsea have had a very busy period during the new year and spent a record amount of money in the January window, totalling around 300 million pounds.
I can understand personally where Reece is coming from, as fans it is fun to listen and watch all the rumours and developments around potential signings on social media but for players it must be frustrating trying to train, especially on specific in game situations and tactics, when you know a potential new player could come into the club as early as the next day and change things up in terms of style of play.
Luckily, Chelsea’s recruitment team and Todd Boehly seem united in their efforts to build a squad in the image of Graham Potter and therefore no signing should be made without a specific plan within the team.
🗣️ “The transfer window is one of my biggest hates because the January period is always so busy with many games and then you have transfer noise, it’s all a bit too much.”
