Chelsea are backing Graham Potter and want to “protect him” through these bad run of results, reports Fabrizio Romano.
The club believes that they hired the right man for the project after sacking Thomas Tuchel.
Potter’s mission is to get results as soon as possible, as of now, the board are not speaking to any other top manager to replace him.
The board and owners feel that he needs more time, especially with all the new signings. Chelsea are likely to give Potter a pre-season before judging him more harshly next season, but that’s just my opinion.
It doesn’t seem that his job will be under threat should he get knocked out of the champions league or finish in the top four. Some Chelsea fans are confused with the aims and objectives of this season, if there is no target and no pressure to win, surely it is unlikely to see the best of the squad.
