Chelsea are back in Premier League action again this weekend after a positive week of no games and reduced training in order to rest, recover from fatigue, and be fully fresh to go this Sunday.
The Blues face Tottenham in their own backyard and once again, it’s been built up to be another must-win game for Graham Potter as rumours of his future at the club continue to come into doubt.
Sources: The feel inside Cobham and whether Chelsea will sack Graham Potter!
But the Chelsea website are preferring to put a positive spin on things in their preview article for the game, and that is actually quite refreshing after a week of anger and turmoil.
They are a bit more optimistic on the game, choosing to hone in on Chelsea’s excellent record against their London rivals.
Chelsea have scored more Premier League goals against Tottenham (110) than any other of their opponents, is one example.
There is also this interesting extract: ‘Despite setbacks, Chelsea remain 10th in the Premier League with 15 fixtures to go – plenty of time for the emerging team to discover its mojo. The Blues have an exceptional record at the Lilywhites’ lair too, and could extend our unbeaten league run against them to nine games this weekend. An away win would complete four in a row in the league on their territory for the first time in our history.’
And then this fact:
Chelsea’s favourite opponents (all competitions)
Tottenham 77 wins
Newcastle 76
Everton 75
Man City 71
Arsenal 66
Aston Villa 66
Liverpool 65
Come on Chelsea!!
Records are good but it can be brokenif you have a dud coach.
