“Lack of coherent structure and plan for the future” Chelsea target not impressed with the Blues

Jude Bellingham, a reported summer target for Chelsea, is not thought to be interested in a move to the Blues with worries there is a “lack of coherent structure and plan for the future”.

This comes from German reporter Christian Falk, as cited by The Daily Mail.

Chelsea signed Enzo Fernandez for a record fee of 105 million pounds so signing Bellingham wouldn’t make much sense from Chelsea’s point of view anyway. Chelsea are likely to dip back into the market next summer for a midfielder, but more of a defensive minded one.

Bellingham and Enzo would cause potential imbalance as both players prefer to play as the more advanced midfielder.

Enzo will likely play the rest of this season in Jorginho’s role, but I do not expect this to be the case next season. Despite the massive spend, Chelsea still need to sort out the balance of the team in certain areas and landing a defensive midfielder is likely to be one of the key targets.
