Chelsea announced the signing of Malo Gusto in January however as part of the agreement with Lyon, he would be loaned back out to finish the season with them.
Chelsea thought it would be worth doing this rather than waiting until the summer where more clubs were certain to enter the bidding to try and capture Gusto’s signature.
Malo’s performances since becoming a Chelsea player have been impressive, with Lyon remaining undefeated in their last two games.
Gusto started both, in a 0-0 draw with Stade Brest, the future Chelsea right back nine of his thirteen total duels whilst completing all three of his attempted dribbles, winning four fouls and keeping a clean sheet.
In the most recent game, Gusto started in a 3-1 win against Troyes and impressed once again 100% dribble completion, three out of five duels won and two tackles, he was also only dribbled past once.
Chelsea look like they have a real talent on their hands, at 19 years old and his trajectory just soaring, it will be a scary sight next season for opposition left wingers having to face up against him or Reece James.
