Chelsea are rumbling on with their dodgy season, and their next test is facing Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
That’s not going to be an easy game, and one player we’re likely to see is Kalidou Koulibaly. He’s lost his place in the Premier League side to Benoit Badiashile, but BB is not in the Champions League squad, so it will be KK’s game to play.
He’s not been great for us, but according to Simon Johnson in the Athletic, who quotes “sources close to him,” it’s all part of the settling in provess.
“Nothing untoward is to blame, just a scenario that frequently occurs with new signings.”
After 8 years at Napoli, this was always going to be something of a culture shock.
Now those close to him are hardly the most likely to throw him under the bus, but having said that, this is their best chance to defend their man from criticism or make excuses by blaming others. The good news is they haven’t done that, and Koulibaly now has a great chance to get his career at Chelsea on track with some really important games.
