N’Golo Kante is “on the verge” of signing a new 2 year deal to stay at Chelsea, according to insider Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany.
He claims that Chelsea’s bosses want him to stay, despite the fact he’s not featured since August and has seen his injury problems grow year on year.
The midfielder’s existing deal expires this summer, so he could walk away for free, but it’s been clear with leaks like this for some time that his priority is to stay in London, preferably at Chelsea.

Whatever the medical staff have seen, it’s clearly convinced them that Kante is going to be able to beat these injury problems and contribute a decent amount over the next two years – if they were to be like the last two years, they probably wouldn’t be doing it, even at a very affordable price.
Kante featured for the reserves last week, and looks like he will be fit for first team action before long.
