Lille striker Jonathan David is the latest attacking player to be linked with a summer move to Chelsea
French sports paper L’Equipe name the Blues alongside Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham as interested sides who could make an offer for the Canada international.
Still just 23, David has emerged as a consistent goal threat in France in the last couple of years, and it’s no surprise to see bigger teams looking to bring him in. Lille have produced a constant flow of talent over the years, and if you can pay the price they want, their players are usually a good bet.
David looks a proper player, but is quite similar to Christopher Nkunku, who is already coming to Chelsea this summer. Of course further striker options are needed, but we might see the club go for a slightly different profile ultimately.
There’s no arguing with his 23 goals in all competitions this season however.
