David Ornstein is about as well connected as people come in the Premier League, and when he speaks we listen.
Today he’s confirmed what was in doubt before about the transition from Frank Lampard’s caretaker spell to Mauricio Pochettino’s summer arrival. Ornstein says that the new man won’t sit in the stands in these remaining games – but will work together with Lampard, along with the club’s sporting directors, on shaping the squad ahead of the summer.
Poch will trust his own eyes as he watches these games, but will also get valuable information on the players’ training habits and attitudes from Lampard.
