Levi Colwil had a brilliant season on loan at Brighton, and understandably after their final home game of the season at the weekend there were calls for him to stay at the club.
Colwill applauded the fans as he left the pitch, and later liked the video of them signing for him. It’s a sign of great respect, and we’re sure Colwill would happily return to the AMEX Stadium if it came down to it – but we’re not sure that Chelsea have bigger things in store for him.
We’ve bungled the careers of a few talented players in recent years, but surely Colwill won’t be one of them. Everyone in the country recognises his talent, and whoever the new manager is they’re certain to want him in the mix in their rebuilt squad.
So all the efforts of these fans is sadly going to be in vain – as much as Colwill likely appreciated the respect for a great season.
