We all knew Raheem Sterling would be a risky signing. He’s not a polished player technically, but is incredibly effective when used in the right way.
At Man City he was in a team which made chances for him, and he put them away. At Chelsea it’s been the opposite.
Yesterday’s game against his old club saw the best and worst of Raheem Sterling. He had Chelsea’s first chance of the game when he ran in and hit a one on one right at the keeper.
At the start of the second half he led a counter than set up Lewis Hall for his shot on goal. Then he got us up the pitch again late on for Hall’s second shot.
Finally, it was Sterling once again who hit the shot which was cleared off the line by a City defender.
So on the one hand he was single handedly making chances – on the other he wasn’t taking him. Such is life with Raheem Sterling in the team.
