Arsenal make bid for Kai Havertz according to David Ornstein

Arsenal have made a proposal to sign Kai Havertz from Chelsea, according to an exclusive from David Ornstein release just ten minutes ago.

The forward was linked strongly with Real Madrid a week ago, but that interest seemed to melt away as time went on, while Arsenal’s has only grown stronger. The Gunners have money to spend and a pretty strong squad all around, and they clearly think that the silky German can be a really effective player for them in a functional team, rather than looking pretty lost up top for Chelsea.

The whole thing is in the very early stages and we expect there to be a lot more back and forth about the price, but something could be developing here. Chelsea are looking for a £75m fee and it seems unlikely will pay all that – but as Ornstein says – “should a deal emerge that suits all parties, it is highly possible Havertz will depart.”

The 24 year old is likely to be happy to get the chance to move to a team that is actually competent and competing for league titles, and Chelsea will happily take the money to spend on a number 9. Maybe everyone can end up happy?

  1. Arsenal will not pay more than £50 million for a striker with 1 in 4 goals per game. Hope he stays with Chelsea and demotes them further down the league.

  2. I don’t care how much arsenal pays to get this deal done. He is more than a dynamic forward who can make Martineli, Saka, and ordegaard better. He is not selfish like Jesus.
