New Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has ‘specifically asked’ the Chelsea board to sign one player, according to a report today.
The Blues boss doesn’t officially start his role until July the 1st, but he is already getting to work and planning his squad for next season.
Sources: Chelsea might still keep Mason Mount even if he doesn’t sign a new contract!
We know that the squad needs some more rebuilding, and it is the midfield area that has been highlighted as an ‘urgency’.
This is according to journalist Rudy Galetti, who has give some words to GIVEMESPORT this week on the situation.
Galetti says that Pochettino has specifically asked for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo as a matter of urgency, coming after Chelsea missed out on signing Manuel Ugarte from Sporting Lisbon last week.
Galetti said: “Pochettino specifically asked for the Brighton player to strengthen the midfield and now with Kante’s farewell, Moises is becoming an urgency.”
The Chelsea-News View
Caicedo is a top quality player who has all the tools to become world class. He has some important Premier League experience as well and would be an excellent addition to the Chelsea squad, coming in to slot alongside Enzo Fernandez in the double pivot under a Pochettino system. He will be costly, but you have to say he’d be worth it.
