€18m Chelsea attacker “advancing in talks” with club he would join

Last night’s chatter about transfer interest in Hakim Ziyech is firming up, with Fabrizio Romano jumping on today to confirm that Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr are “advancing in talks” to sign the winger, who is “open to discuss” that move.

Chelsea apparently expect a bid for the unwanted former Ajax man within the next days. It would be a real coup for the Blues, who want to shift as many player like Ziyech for as much money as possible, and otherwise run the risk of having unhappy and unwanted players on the books for yet another year.

It’s clear that nothing is decided yet, and that the Morocco star could yet have a pang of desire to keep playing in Europe, but given he’s had a miserable few years in London and now has the chance to become wealthy beyond even professional footballers’ wildest dreams, it seems likely he takes the offer.

Even more juicily for Chelsea fans who are supporting the clearout this year, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also apparently interesting some Saudi clubs. Now that really would be a huge and unexpected win for the Blues if they can shift the Gabon striker.
