Ruben Loftus-Cheek has left Chelsea after 19 years, the club have just announced on their official website.
The midfielder has been with since under 8 level and there are few players as graceful and impressive as him in full flow. Injuries have held him back thus far in his career, but at 27 he still has a huge amount to give, and we’re sure he will tear apart Serie A teams.
Milan’s long standing plans to sign him looked to have ended when they sacked their sporting director and technical director at the end of the season, but their subsequent sale of Sandro Tonali created a gap in their midfield, and they soon reignited their interest in RLC to fill that gap.
It’s a blow to Chelsea as they lose an important squad player who has proved himself useful in a variety of positions.
Still, we’ve got to pay Raheem Sterling’s exorbitant wages somehow…
Or Kepa’s ridiculous salary, or Ziyech’s, or Lukaku’s!
