Inter Milan lost last night’s Champions League final to Manchester City, despite having some good chances to win it.
It was a painful moment all round, especially for striker Lautaro Martinez. But after full time, as the players were distraught on the pitch waiting to collect their runners’ up medals, Chelsea target Andre Onana was the one with his head still held high, and the cameras caught him supporting Martinez and trying to console him.
Chelsea fans on Twitter lapped it up, bemoaning how much their club needed leadership like this as well as good goalkeeping. It’s certainly something this squad lacks overall, and getting it from a goalkeeper is always a bonus as it radiates confidence to those relying on him.
