Cesare Casadei was one of Chelsea’s more under the radar signings of last summer, which was no surprise as he arrived without having played a single senior game of football.
Since then he’s had plenty of action however, and this highlight reel from this season show what a mature player he’s looking like now. In our youth games, then on loan at Reading, then playing with Italy’s U20s, he’s looking increasingly ready for first team action.
It gives you a nice impression of his game – the number 8 really suits him. He goes box to box, scores goals and makes tackles. He’s got plenty of size and physicality – enough to survive in the Championship and enough to look a cut above in these recent U20 World Cup games.
