It’s painful for Chelsea fans to see Mason Mount on the verge of a move to Manchester United, not only because he’s a good player, but because he’s a home grown lad who they have a great affinity for.
Zac Djellab explained this very eloquently on Football Daily’s Monday Vibes show this afternoon:
“Out of every player, this is probably the player that most Chelsea fans have felt the most connected to after the last few years,” Djellab said.
He added that compared to Reece James, who made his way to the first team at a similar time but took longer to get up to steam, Mount had really looked fantastic from day one and had captured the hearts of the fans with his sheer effort, as well as his performances, and of course his background as an academy lad.
