Sky Sports’ Mark McAdam has an interesting take on the Mason Mount to Manchester United deal.
He’s convinced that the Red Devils think they’ve been “clever” in the deal because they laid down the law and said they had simply left their offer on the table and waited for Chelsea to come back to them rather than getting drawn into escalatory bidding.
On the other hand, one could say Chelsea were clever in getting £60m or so for a player with one year left on his contract. It’s all a matter of perspective…
