Ethan Ampadu will leave Chelsea on a permanent move this summer, a Twitter user has claimed to know as an “exclusive.”
Felix Johnston says that the midfielder has been told he is free to leave.
We’re not sure if this is an actual exclusive or just made up frankly – it sounds like educated guesswork, but it remains very likely true.
Ampadu has had a nice couple of Serie A loans without setting the league on fire, and there will be good sides in the Premier League and in Italy interested in signing him for a good fee. He doesn’t look like he’s ready for Chelsea’s first team, and there is a lot of competition there now from shiny new signings.
The best choice for his career, and probably for Chelsea in terms of maxing out his transfer value, is selling him this summer. He can step up to a team looking to qualify for Europe and see how he fits in there.
