The situation around former Chelsea right back Tino Livramento is developing in quite an interesting way.
The story so far: after being a star in the youth teams, Livramento forced a move to Southampton two years ago in search of first team football. Chelsea asked for a low fee but inserted a sell on clause as they were well aware of his potential.
Livramento had a great first season, but picked up a serious knee injury that ended it early and made him miss a full 13 months, returning just before the end of this season.
In that time Southampton were relegated, and now there’s top flight interest in the academy player, despite him not having played for such a long period.
Newcastle have been heavily linked, and yesterday we saw Chelsea added to the mix too. Today Nizaar Kinsella adds further detail to those vague rumours. He says that Livramento wants first team minutes guaranteed wherever he goes. That might not be the case at Newcastle or Chelsea – but Chelsea would consider loaning him back to Southampton for a year in the Championship.
