Raheem Sterling is one of the few experienced players left in this Chelsea squad after this summer’s wholesale changes, and hopes were high for the winger.
He had a poor debut season at the club, but that has largely been explained away by the circumstances – a disastrous series of managerial moves, a lack of team spirit and cohesion, plain bad luck and a crowded dressing room.
It all seemed lined up nicely for a bounce back for the England star this season. A competent and experienced coach in place to build a team that will help Sterling get back to the goalscoring form we saw at Man City.
Yet last night’s friendly performance was another reminder that we could be in for another long season with Sterling. Fans watching the game all over the world bemoaned the visible lack of effort that still seems to plague him. There was widespread dismay at the shocking showing from our left hand side, which comprised the unreliable Marc Cucurella and the uninterested Sterling.
We don’t expect everyone to be brilliant in every game – but we do expect them to try in every game. So far, even taking into account the circumstances, we’re not getting that from Sterling, and that’s inexcusable, and bound to rile up fans.
GET RID , should never have bought Stirling in the first place , he is a has been , Man City new that . We should get what we can for him £30m and replace him with some young player who is hungry to do well for Chelsea FC .
Buying Stirling and put him on massive wages meant we had to sell real quality players the likes of Mount and Havertz. Stirling looks as though he doesn’t care or he isn’t good enough. Move him on
Sale him and replace him if he’s not interested to play for this team . He is one of those experience player that should be the role model to younger football aspirant . But if he show no enthusiasm to play for this team offload him . He can be the star of this team if he give his heart to play with passion to win . And help this young team to be inspire to play the game for CFC .
Both of them should be shipped out. A total waste of our money.
