Last night saw rumour and counter rumour as Chelsea were linked with Dusan Vlahovic, then Fabrizio Romano distanced the club from any imminent move.
The whole back and forth got a lot of Blues fans online on a Sunday night into disputes about the Serbian striker. Is he smart bargain pick up? A player who looked a rising star at Fiorentina and has just been caught in a bad situation at Juve? A striker with 28 match winning goals (according to Transfermarkt) and a great attitude?
That’s certainly what some see in him.
Other see a player who was overpriced in his move to Juventus because of a lucky hot streak before it, and a player who Chelsea are better off avoiding, rather than falling for the flavour of the month profile once again.
There are no easy answers. What is certain is that the team needs another option up top. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was brought in in these circumstances last year, and while we don’t want a repeat of that, we don’t want a repeat of spending loads of money on Romelu Lukaku either.
