Romelu Lukaku’s future remains up in the air.
The striker isn’t accepting interest from any team other than Inter Milan, but the Italian side can’t afford him.
Meanwhile Chelsea can’t find a top class striker to replace him.
It puts them both in an awkward position – and on ESPN today Julien Laurens explained the only way that things could be resolved if there’s no sale.
Mauricio Pochettino will have to convince the forward that he’s a player he wants, and Lukaku will have to agree to a third shot at Chelsea. Frankly, after the disaster for both sides last time, we can’t see it happening.
You can see this all laid out in the clip embedded here:

If i was Lukaku i would try it with Pocchetino and go back to Chelsea. Especially if Pocchetino has made it clear that he wants him to be part of the team.
Sale him off and buy Victor osimen….lukaku should not come back to Chelsea because he is an ungrateful Prayer… PLEASE BUY THE HITMAN OSIMEN…. please don’t buy caicedo more than 80 million pounds….
I can’t believe that any true Chelsea fan who has witnessed how Lukaku has performed at the club could even entertain the idea of him coming back. There are so many flaws in his abilities (or lack of) that he is nowhere near the standard required at this club. It was a desperate backward step bringing him back in the first place and would be even more embarrassing if he returned
Lakaku need understand his not charge of what happens. If inter don’t pay the price then they don’t want him and he needs go elsewhere. Lakaku need be dominated to the reserves if he don’t want to play
Someone (ideally Poch) has got to make it clear to Lukaku that if he’s going to turn down Saudi offers and his favored club (Inter) can’t stump up the cash to meet our valuation then he’s liable to sit and rot this next year. That leaves working with Poch (if Poch will have him) or pressuring Inter to up their offer as his only options, but he has to be disabused of the idea that we will sell him on the cheap or we have no power in the matter whatsoever.
