Jason Cundy made some very interesting points in defending Chelsea’s ownership in his interview on TalkSport this week.
He was happy to criticise a lot of the mistakes they made last year, but defended them on their use of long contracts. It was put to him that the club could be burying itself in bad future with these long deals, but Cundy denied it.
When Mykhailo Mudryk and his 8 year deal was brought up, Cundy played down the contract. “Mudryk is on £80k a week” he retorted, pointing to the fact it would likely be relatively easy to shift the winger if things don’t work out.
