Mauricio Pochettino is taking his press conference today ahead of Sunday’s clash against West Ham, and the Argentine had to address the latest piece of bad injury news from his short career as Blues boss so far.
This time it’s Reece James who’s been struck down, with reports emerging this time yesterday that the England full back had a hamstring injury. There was panic at first that we could be about to see a major chunk of the season lost for the injury prone full back, but Pochettino’s words in the presser have assuaged those fears somewhat.
Pochettino was not very specific in his first response, so later a journo went for a follow up and was told that the player’s absence was indeed due to a hamstring issue.
“It’s a hamstring. It’ snot a few days, a few weeks maybe.”
So it sounds like a strain rather than a tear, or certainly a very low grade tear at the very worst. It’s a blow, but at least the fear that it’s going to be a multiple month injury has faded. Malo Gusto, after an impressive preseason, now has the chance to step up as a starter.

Recce James was SUPPOSED to be SOLD.
A decision Poch will REGRET later.
Gets injured a lot needs to play more though especially now he’s captain can’t lead from the front if not on the pitch John terry Frank Lampard great leaders fantastic players never injured though and would we have won as much if they were injured as much as reece James his ? No one doubts is great talent but if not on the pitch not much cop is it !
