When Carney Chukwuemeka was helped off the field on Sunday after twisting his knee in the game against West Ham, we feared the worst.
Perhaps it’s just the sheer number of MCL and ACL injuries that we’ve seen all over world football in the last month or so, or perhaps it’s just the Chelsea injury curse that has hung over us for a couple of years. Either way, we will freely admit we assumed this was going to be a multi-month problem, and potentially even a season ender.
So in a way we’re relieved that Nizaar Kinsella is saying that the midfielder will be out for 6 weeks rather than 6 months.

Still, he’s had to have surgery which is never a good sign. The 19 year old will be rushing to get back to pick up where he left off after a great preseason and a great goal in the game against West Ham, shortly before he got hurt.
