(Video): Saudi Arabian club made massive Moises Caicedo offer that could kill Chelsea’s deal

Sky Sports are reporting the breaking news that an “unnamed Saudi club” have made an approach to Brighton for Moises Caicedo, with reporter Dharmesh Sheth hinting that the offer is close to the £100m asking price that the Seagulls have been demanding since the midfielder signed his new contract in the spring.

This is a disaster for Chelsea, whether or not Caicedo actually makes the move to Saudi. The bid – which is presumably massive – simply strengthens Brighton’s position and convinces them that they have been right in holding out for such a massive sum all along.

  1. There’s no way a player his age is going to be willing to go to Saudi Arabia when he’s only just announced his presence on the world stage with a strong year in the best league in the world. No matter what Ronaldo says, it’s a glorified retirement league. No world class talent who thinks their best years are still ahead of them (e.g., Mbappe) would give the Saudi league a second thought.
