Enzo Fernandez changed his shirt number from 5 to 8 for this season – could we see him deployed in a more attacking midfield role, as that change would denote? We certainly hope so.
The clips from training today show the Argentine scoring silky goal after silky goal in the small sided game, using his brilliant close control and ball striking so well. Fans all over the internet are responding and calling for him to be used further forward than last season.
We’ve got no doubt that’s the plan – the question is whether we sign the deeper midfielders we need to make that possible.
