Chelsea signing ‘feels burdened by his price tag’ says insider

One football insider has claimed that one of Chelsea’s new signings is really feeling burdened by his price tag.

Chelsea have signed many players over the last few windows since the new owners came in, and some of the sagas got really dramatic.

Sources: Chelsea targeting 8 potential new strikers for January!

One of the most dramatic was Chelsea beating Arsenal to sign winger Mykhailo Mudryk in the last moments back in January, and spending a fee that could end up reaching £100m if add-ons are hit.

It’s a lot of money for a young and relatively unproven player at the time, but Chelsea took a gamble.

If you assess it right now you’d say the gamble is not paying off because he’s been poor, that’s just a fact. Obviously he needs time and you can see his confidence is completely shot right now.

And according to Ben Jacobs writing in his latest exclusive and extensive Chelsea column today for SPTC, Mudryk’s price tag is effecting his confidence.

Jacobs said: “Mudryk just hasn’t settled yet and feels burdened by his price tag.

“There simply wouldn’t be the scrutiny or pressure on Mudryk had Arsenal not been so intent on signing him, and Shakhtar were thus able to get a €100m package for him. When Brentford and Everton were looking last summer they didn’t want to pay more than €30-35m and at that price there wouldn’t be such a fuss over Mudryk. The fees Chelsea pay are investments, but players have to grow into their price tags and fans have to perhaps appreciate, even when the fees are steep, that some players are not finished products.”

  1. I just don’t know why y’all can’t just give this guy a fcking break. How many games has he started for Chelsea?
How many 90mins has he played?
How do we expect him to develope with irregular game time?
Wasn’t Salah and Debruyne bad mouthed by fans before they left?

I’m beginning to think most chelsea fans are toxic and negative minded creeps. Including their writers in Chelsea blog columns. Just fck this shit and give the guy a break till he is given the chance to start at least 5-6 games in a row.
