(Video): Fan slams Chelsea ownership for “failure” so far

Rory Jennings was on TalkSport today moaning about Chelsea’s ownership.

We’re 11th already in their second season, and Jennings says it could be worse.

He pointed out that – had Mo Salah been 1 millimetre further back, it would have been 2-0 to Liverpool in the opening game. That would make our only win of the season a win over possibly historically bad Luton.

He added to that that we have a really good manager, which makes the ownership failures even more obvious.

You can see his rant in the clip embedded here:

  1. COULD NOT AGREE MORE. HAVE BEEN SAYING THATTHE YANK HAS NOT GOT A CLUE, AND IS NOT INTERESTED IN THE CLUB FAMILY. THIS IS SIMPLY A MONEY MAKING VENTURE (SO HE THINKS) LOYAL, EXPERIENCED STAFF DUMPED RUBBISH INSTALLED, WORLD CHAMP PLAYERS GONE UNKNOWNS BROUGHT IN, 1 BILLION SPENT BOTTOM HALF OF THE TABLE. —— SELL UP AND LET SOMEONE WITH AT LEAST HALF A BRAIN TAKE OVER. NEVER SEEN THIS CAOS IN OVER 60 YEARS OF BEING A FAN.

    1. My goodness! If only shouting it made it true, lol. Yes, by all means, we’ve played four matches, the sky is falling [eye roll], it must be the Yanks fault—how very convenient.

I’ve supported Chelsea from America for over 20 years and what I think is lost in the rush to condemn the new ownership is the utter mess they inherited from the prior group—whose fickle nature created a chaotic churn of managers that, in turn, left us with an assemblage of players that didn’t suit any particular playing style or identity. All the new management has done is rip off the bandage and start rebuilding from the ground up. Yet the fan base is so spoiled and entitled that we’re four weeks into the season and it’s total hysteria. My word, have you never felt a bandage removed? Have you never seen a rebuild? We see it all the time in America. It takes time, investment and patience. You suffer when the bandage comes off, but you reap the rewards down the road when the young core of your team becomes a dynasty.

If you call yourself a “supporter” then trying supporting. Knock off the scapegoating—it’s based on little but a trope that says Americans know nothing about football (we do), and it does nothing but harm the club and alienate those of us from abroad whose fandom is helping supply the revenue that makes the EPL the richest and best league in the world.
