Conor Gallagher revealed this week that he found out that he was going to be Chelsea captain against Bournemouth when he lifted up his shirt and found the armband wrapped in it – a little surprise gift from Mauricio Pochettino.
It’s a lovely touch that from Pochettino – we suppose that’s what people mean about his good man management, subtle things like this.
Of course all this just makes the fact we tried to sell him on deadline day even more mystifying.
