Craig Burley hates Chelsea and Chelsea hate Craig Burley.
So he doesn’t miss an opportunity to stick the boot in – and he won’t find a much better chance than now. The club is into a second consecutive season of embarrassing itself, and Burley rolled up his sleeves and got stuck in on ESPN today:
“The amount they have spent, and the way that the ownership has conducted their business, has been the complete opposite of how you should try and rebuild a football club.”
Harsh words. You may not agree, but if we reach the end of a second consecutive season bumping around in the bottom half of the league, there will be no choice but to admit he might just have a point.
