The Athletic had an interesting round table discussion about Chelsea’s nightmare year on their podcast, including two of the regular correspondents explaining just how the players were getting boo-ed off after 5 games of the new season -Â despite many fans actually being quite excited and positive about new coach Mauricio Pochettino.
Adam Crafton put it best: “I don’t think Chelsea fans have recovered from last season, where they ended up hating half the players.”
That’s fair enough – the issue is that in fact all of those players are gone. What’s left is the slightly anonymous group who we’ve accumulated in the last 12 months.
