3 positives Chelsea can take from the draw against Arsenal – opinion

It would be totally understandable if you are still feeling the pain of the draw against Arsenal today.

Despite Chelsea going two goals in front, many fans left the stadium gutted and speechless following Arsenal’s late resurgence at Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino though will be taking plenty of positives away from the weekend, his Chelsea side went toe to toe with last season’s title challengers and some could argue dominated in large portions of the match.

Let’s take a look at three of those positives below :

1) Marc Cucurella

Cucurella was on the chopping block in the Summer but following a string of performances at right back and now in his favoured left back position at the weekend, Chelsea have something to think about and re-consider perhaps ahead of the January transfer window.

This was a player signed for £52m and is showing the club and fans why he is capable of holding down the mantle whilst Ben Chilwell is injured.

2) Conor Gallagher

Conor Gallagher is one of the standouts of this season so far, his relentless pressing haunted the Arsenal midfield on Saturday, and his man marking job on Declan Rice and Jorginho meant that Arsenal suffered in the build up phase.

Conor is looking undroppable at this present moment.

3) Mykhailo Mudryk

Was it a cross or was it intended? That’s the question going round on social media about Mykhailo Mudryk’s goal on Saturday.

In any case, the fact we are talking about Mudryk scoring is a huge positive, the winger has so much raw talent but has suffered with his end product.

Pochettino looks like he is relishing working with Mykhailo and has made him his personal mission.

The Ukrainian looks more confident every time he plays and the run of consecutive starts before the Burnley match has clearly helped him, his close control dribbling, foul winning ability, raw pace and link up play is making me and many more fans excited for the week’s ahead.
