Chelsea have reportedly enquired for Inter Milan defender Federico DiMarco, according to CaughtOffside.
DiMarco usually plays on the left hand side and I believe that it is not inconceivable that this report is true. Chelsea have Ben Chilwell out with injury and Levi Colwill has had to fill in at left back for several games.
With Marc Cucurella’s resurgence, perhaps Colwill will get to play more at his favoured centre back position in the coming weeks however.
DiMarco could be an option for next summer even if he extends his contract. Italian clubs notoriously include release clauses in contracts so it could be a player to keep an eye on.
He performed excellently in the UEFA Champions League final against Manchester City and is known for his runs forward and crossing.
Chelsea may be looking for a new left back next season with the long term future’s of Ian Maatsen and Marc Cucurella unclear.
