Paul Merson used to be seen as a bit of a joke, perhaps because of his accent or his joking manner, but recent years have shown him to actually be one of the sharper pundits around.
He’s spot on with his opinions in a number of areas, but Chelsea fans in particular have noticed that he’s much more plugged in on what’s going on at the club than a lot of other pundits.
His Tweet today may have revealed why. Merson is covering Chelsea’s game against Burnley for Sky Sports Soccer Saturday, and ahead of the game he posted a picture of himself at his desk with the caption “come on you Blues.”

It’s a little known fact that Merson is a Chelsea fan. This isn’t the first time it’s been revealed, but it should remind everyone that it’s not just a coincidence he’s on the ball when it comes to our team.
