Fabrizio Romano was speaking about Ian Maatsen’s situation briefly in his video today. He said that Chelsea will be forced to sell the full back if his contract situation isn’t sorted out by January. In the summer he can leave for free, and Chelsea won’t countenance that.
It should also be remembered that Marc Cucurella is a left back who they’re wanting to get rid of. It’s impossible that both go, so it may be a case of just seeing who gets the more tempting offer come the winter window.
