Fabrizio Romano was on the Caughtoffside podcast today, and one topic brought up was Marc Cucurella’s summer.
The left back was strongly linked to Manchester United on deadline day, and as Romano said, he likely would have left were it not for a late breakdown in talks over a purchase clause.
But more interesting to us was the way that Romano revealed that “many, many clubs” had chased Cucurella once they knew Chelsea would consider a sale. That included RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Real Sociedad, three really impressive European outfits.
We wonder if they’ll still be keen in January?
