With Chelsea not in European competition this season and struggling in the league, it’s become vitally important that we do well in the cup competitions, and Mauricio Pochettino knows it.
He said it at the start of the year, and repeated it in his press conference today. He said he would play his strongest possible team tomorrow (bearing in mind those players who played a full game on Saturday), and would be focused on getting through against Blackburn rather than looking ahead to our match against Spurs in the Premier League next Monday.
We’re glad to hear it – we desperately need a little morale boost from a cup win.
