Cole Palmer is what Kai Havertz was supposed to be at Chelsea

The Athletic have come out with an article today talking about Cole Palmer’s start to Chelsea and revealed some inside information.

Chelsea writers Liam Twomey and Simon Johnson state that people inside the club have anonymously shared that there is a belief Cole Palmer is the player they thought they were getting when they signed Kai Havertz three years ago.

Whilst some may seem this statement as controversial from whoever inside the club said it, there is no doubt that Palmer has delivered better performances than Havertz did in a Chelsea shirt in the Premier League already.

When you think of Havertz at Chelsea, you mainly thing of European competitions where he delivered in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super cup.

Palmer has produced passing of a level in just a few matches that Kai Havertz and Mason Mount did not show, and has not taken any time to adapt to Chelsea, you could argue Havertz is still trying to find himself as a league player now.
