“I understand” – Journalist details plans for double Chelsea move in January

Tomorrow marks the start of December, and for all football fans around the globe, that means we are about to start a super busy period of football being played.

And as well as that, a very busy period of transfer rumours and noise as we approach the winter transfer window in January.

Chelsea will be active, although they are not expected to be overly active at least not like they have been for the last three transfer windows. But they do have some business to get done.

They will be looking at a couple of potential new arrivals, some possible outgoings, and sorting out some loan moves that are currently not working.

One of those is Andrey Santos’ season long loan at Nottingham Forest having only made 1 league appearance so far.

Diego Moreira at Lyon is suffering a similar fate.

And according to journalist Simon Phillips on his personal Substack site today, Chelsea will recall both players in a move that will be intertwined.

Due to Chelsea using up their foreign loan moves, bringing Moreira back into the Chelsea U21s for the rest of the season, opens up a slot for Santos to go out on loan in Europe, with Strasbourg being ‘super keen’ on signing him.

  1. The likes of Moreira and Santos dont affect the loan quota as they are under 21 I believe. Same with Slonina, Fofana and Gabriel.
