Bashir Humphreys had a really strong preseason, and is now settled in to a loan at Swansea where things are getting better and better.
This week he spoke to the Welsh club’s social media channels, where he revealed one of his highlights of his time at Chelsea so far – training with Thiago Silva, one of his childhood heroes.
“Coming out to train as an 18 year old and seeing Thiago Silva, one of my idols… seeing him in the flesh, it was mad. Then just being like a sponge around him.”
This just reminds you what it means for some of these kids to even just share a dressing room with an icon like Silva. His powers on the pitch may be fading, but his aura is going nowhere.
