It’s funny how quickly things change after a loss in football.
Chelsea, their fans, and plenty of pundits were convincing themselves that the Blues had turned a corner after a few good results, but last weekend’s defeat to Brentford has taken everyone back to the brink where they were just a few weeks ago before a win in the cup against Brighton created a mini revival.
On ESPN Stevie Nichol claimed that the Blues couldn’t score a goal “to save their life.” That sounds chillingly accurate to those of us who have been torturing ourselves watching every game.
