Manchester City – and in particular Erling Haaland – are very good. They don’t need any help from the referees.
But that’s just what they’ve got here. City were given a penalty after the Norwegian striker wrestled with Marc Cucurella at the far post. As Jamie Carragher said on Sky commentary, it was very much 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. Cucurella pulls Haaland down after Haaland has pulled Cucurella back.
