“A few weeks… it is a little bit sad” – Pochettino has fans worried with negative injury update

After 6 months waiting, we finally saw Romeo Lavia make his Chelsea debut in midweek as a sub against Crystal Palace.

Now, maddeningly, it sees we might have to wait for a while before we see him again,

Mauricio Pochettino reported after the game that Lavia had picked up an injury even in his short cameo, and speaking to the club’s official app ahead of kickoff against Luton today, his explanation made it sound even worse than we feared.

“Romeo we need to assess in the next few days and see because he feels something. We need to assess him so we still don’t know if it is going to be a few days or a few weeks.

“It is a little bit sad for Romeo because of the situation after five or six months he could make his debut but has gone a little bit backwards in this moment. But for sure he is going to come back strong to help us as soon as possible.”

The only reason he was forced to Lavia perhaps a little earlier than expected was that he already had several other midfield injuries. Now we’re back in the other direction, with other players being overplayed because Lavia is out. The problems just swing from one direction to another and never seem to end.

Moises Caicedo and Conor Gallagher are playing from the start again today, mainly through a lack of alternatives, and that’s not going to end well.
